Flap Discs and grinding wheels

Im surprised there isnt more love for Benchmark Abrasives here. I run their flap discs, cut off wheels, and roloc sanding discs. I go through 30 or so flap disks a year and maybe 60 roloc sanding discs.

Maybe I would get more life out of a different brand but at 2.** a 4.5" flat disc I cant complain.

30+60*2=180 Bad Dog disc at 170 don't seem to bad. I don't use many flap or grind disc, I learned how to cut instead long ago, a little scratch with a ******* file generally gets it good to go.

LOL. There’s more to grinding than cleaning up cuts, man. Step back and look with a wider lens.

There’s a reason about 1/4 of the booths at a welding trade show are abrasives. So many different kinds and applications it’s mind boggling.

Your likely right that 1/4 of the booths at a welding trade show are abrasives, has to be at least 25% are grinders not welders.

I did say '' I don't use many flap or grind disc''. Use some what more .045's. Didn't say grinding is not necessary, but is not always mandatory.

$pendy. But, if time is money.....

For a $180 I would rather buy 3 HF grinders and $150 in quality abrasives then deal with Bad Dog compromising gimmicky garbage.


I also tried Benchmark when they were giving away sample packs. Meh. Basically the same as any cheap import, def nothing special.
