flare nut wrenches necessary?

I prefer the snap on open end/flare because of very wide open ends that help if did not get on the nut and rounds off a little

If not I also recommend the flare nut crows foots they will save your *** on rack & pinion and p/s pressure lines

Yeah, but the youngest cars I work on are vw buses from the 80s that come and go all over the place... the other cars we have in the shop are from mid 60s.

In all seriousness, I absolutely love the SO FD+ open ends, but they do not compare to a good flare set. The older US (SK made for some) Cman pros are pretty good, only set I have that are better are the Snap Ons.
