What do you guys prefer when it comes to flash lights? My m12 milwaukee is too big for a lot of the job I do, and I don't like the hassle of using a trouble light. I found this light on amazon and it seems to be great for the money.

My go to work light is a plain jane 2 c-cell maglite with the maglite led upgrade.

I use an Olight T20. It has 3 light levels, plus strobe and S.O.S. It's proven tough enough so far and was only about $30 on ebay.

Long battery life. LEDs. Very shock and damage proof.
I put clear bra over the acrylic lenses to reduce pitting and scratching.

In the car 24/7, I usually carry the mini-Mag lites or the LED AAA flash lights from HF or NAPA. Fresh batteries every fall.

Got a Mac TL4762 which has a hook that folds out and a magnet. Great for working on a car. Has bright led bulbs. It is made in China and can probably be found elsewhere cheaper. I think I paid $15, but not sure. measures about 2 1/2 by 4 by 1 inch thick.

I like the Maglite XL50. I keep one on my belt all of the time. It's LED and has a nice shape, very bright and super handy.

My wife will tell you that I have a fetish with guns, knives, tools and flashlights...here are just one flashlights in my home toolbox and on my workbench...this doesn't include the ones stashed around the house, in my vehicles, attached to weapons or in my toolbox at work...

I find myself using the streamlight headlight more than anything else...hands free light right where you need it...I have one attached to my hardhat at work...use it some point everyday...

As far as tactical lights I really like the Surefires that I have...for work and general use I like anything in the Streamlight or Pelican brand...they are bright, durable, most have safety ratings for hazardous areas and they take regular batteries...we beat the heck out of them at work and they just keep going...

I'm now a streamlight user for life. I've bought several brands over the past 3 or 4 years (usually whenever i misplace my streamlight) and they all end up dying. They just can't handle being dropped.

Streamlight makes SOME of their lights in the US. The more expensive ones usually, like the Stingers and whatnot. Call and ask, they're nice.

I have a Surefire 8AX and recently bought a Streamlight C4 LED stinger. I like the stinger because of the run time and charging without having to remove the damn battery. I love a good light and get truly pissed when I forget my light at home and am "in the dark" for the day.

Any flashlight that works is better than nothing. We have flashlights around like smokers have ash trays, mostly the formerly free HF, but from time to time I buy something that looks interesting.

I like my $6 headlamp from China, very very good to use. Anytime I want something brighter or more focused than my HF I use a Maglite or Coast or NexGen. Anything more than about $7 with a 1 watt or better Cree LED and a decent user review should do most people fine.

All of them have some plus and some minus points, so best to buy a couple cheaper ones and decide what features etc. are important to you.

As I said in my previous post I love my pelican lights for work...

Not all of them are waterproof thou...only some...most of the rest of them are considered "submersible water resistant" and can be 3' for 30 minutes underwater

StreamLight Stinger Mine is Part number 75073 Yes it was pricy, but it comes with an extra battery and a charging unit that keeps the spare charged and also is a charging cradle for the flashlight.

I bought 2 different non-rechargable flashlights when I first became a tech. Experienced techs told me not too, but i didn't want to spend the money. After dealing with minimal light output and constant battery changes i broke down. Best $150 dollars in my tool box! I love it. Had it about 5 years now. Looks like amazon has them right now for just a touch over a hundred.

Streamlight Stinger. I have five of them. Not only are they great lights, if they need a switch or a lens I can run them down to the police supply and they rebuild them right there, for free!
