Flashing Smiley is terribly annoying

When crafting posts that maniacal flashing smiley is terribly annoying and distracting. Does it really add to posts? Seems like it should be at least moved to the 'more' section so it's not there as a distraction when creating or responding to posts.

Thanks. Great site!

You've been here less than a month, and are already annoyed by a smiley?

Well yeah, soon as I saw it. ;) Quick replies are no biggie but yeah noticed it kinda instantly. Actually had to cover it with another window (maybe I am just too sensitive to flashy stuff but I did find another thread complaining about long before I got here). ;)

I find this post kind of ironic being your graphics backround. Oh well welcome to GJ:lol_hitti

Ironic how? Yeah, I know it's annoying when new members have a complaint straight off but I figured it was an easy fix, and I had found another thread with people complaining about it before I got here. :rocker:

I have to say I hate that damned flashing POS with a passion. It literally makes my head hurt. If there were a way to disable the smilies like you can avatars/signatures/etc, I'd do it in a heartbeat because of that thing. Like Nuk, the rest of them don't really bother me. They don't strobe violently like that thing does.

It looks like the mods have moved it to the 'MORE' section. Thank you!!! :) My eyes applaud your quick remedy. :bounce:

Depending on your browser, just block http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/images/smilies/shocking.gif

If your browser doesn't have ad blocking, block it in your firewall.

Easy as pie. :)

It's not in the "more" section on my computer. As a matter of fact, my Smilies constantly are moving around every time I log on. As far as the "shocking" smiley :shocking:, just close your right eye when typing.

Do you also ask your "new-found" mechanic not to use a timing strobe?? ;)

Do you ask women you just met not to wink at you?:headscrat

At a party, are you the first to say turn down the music?:(

Let's get on with talking about tools, garages and the related....

All that has been said before....It is terribly annoying and distracting. I have to say I hate that damned flashing POS with a passion. It literally makes my head hurt. The flash is very distracting to me. I see no purpose in them at all.
