I need some advice but first let me tell you my situation. I RENT a 25x35 garage. It's got a slightly pitched roof but basicaly it's flat. The roof leaks but it's been more in the last few months. I tell my landlord about it & he sends his kid down with some tar (when I'm not there) & he spreads little spots of tar around here & there. Sometimes it will stop leaking in a certain area but another leak will develop closeby. I've had enough of their mickey mouse repair jobs. Some of my stuff is getting ruined because this. If I owned the place I'd have no problem replacing the roof or have a peaked roof put on but I don't own the place & I don't want to spend big money on someone elses property. If the old man ****'s the bed (he's 84) I'd be out of a garage with a new roof!
So my question is: Is there anything I can do or use to fix the current roof? Something besides just flasing tar or whatever they've been using. The roof has that rolled stuff with the grit in the center & no grit on like 3in. of either side, plywood under that & 2x6's under the plywwod & a steel I beam supporting the 2x6's where they join up in the center. The walls are cinder block.
The rent is reasonable & I can work on my stuff & noone really bothers me there. So a similar replacemnt will be a tough find. I'd like to stick it out there as long as I can without the leaks.
