I found this 3/8 FTRH Friday at a flea market.
It shows very little wear. It had some paint on it that brake cleaner took off easily.

After dissambly, cleaning with a brass brush and lube it is very smooth.

My first 1979 set had this style ratchet.
I still have the original 1/2 and 1/4. Now I have a nice 3/8. I am still looking for a nice 1/4.

I have several more modern ratchets but these are an old favorite. They served me Well as a beginning mechanic straight out of High School.

I really miss the Sears of the old days.

If you aren't a slave to the Craftsman handle style, EASCO made a knurled round handle with the exact same gear drive. Many tool buyers walk right on past EASCO tools because the name isn't familiar.
