Found some interesting parts or pieces of hardware today and nobody knew what these were.
First pic are odd(to me) groups of machine type bolts of some sort. Some have square heads and the square cube-like heads seem to be oddly different sizes and imperfect some bent some partially rounded or stripped... Others have regular allen-head or hex key.. still others have straight slots and shoulders but somewhat reminds me of a set screw.

Next there are various spring loaded pins of some sort... Perhaps dies for button presses per the info stamped into the casings and research...

Thank you.
The screws were $1 and I will use at least a few for something. The other things the guy threw at me because I looked at em. In the end I not only bought this stuff, I took pictures of it so you guys could try to tell me what it was knowing if I never find a use for it I may just find someone else who wants to put it in that special place where they put thousands of little bits they'll never use(coffee can).

To a certain degree I can see buying some things not knowing what it is, either it has a cool factor (although you have no clue what it is) or you can make it work for another purpose. It's like some tables I drug to the shop a few years ago, they're originally intended for special needs children, at the time didn't really know I just saw them headed for the dumpster, but the top is adjustable to flip and the height is adjustable. I have since mainly used them for painting bumper covers, but they're handy for holding parts of painting motorcycle parts.
I just can't understand some of these guys that buy some things that they have paid a decent amount of cash for and have no clue what they're buying or if they've paid a fair price or whether they could actually use it. It just blows my mind!

Slotted capscrews are just that, slotted capscrews. If the heads on the square-heads are a soft metal, they are for a blast panel, If they are a solid hard metal they are likely a blind fastener that goes into a slotted track.

The funky square bolts look like regular hex-head bolts that haven't had the head formed into a hex shape yet. I found something very similar to those in a bolt bin at Lowe's several years ago.

On the one I found, you could see the end on the shaft through the top of the larger piece of metal. I think the shaft is rolled out, threads rolled into it, and the shaft forced into a larger diameter piece of the same metal then the head is formed on it.

My opinion of course. I could be wrong. Actually, I probably am wrong. Just ask my wife. ;) :D
