I've got that same one, but mine was repainted a different color. How do you like it?

I've fab'd up a slide in hitch for my '83 Corvette and have a vise very similar to that one Kevin.

Let me see if I can get some pics loaded.

Kevin: i thought you didn't put the picture in on purpose and i was enjoying watching the great minds of GJ give their thoughts.

WTF is that and you might not even call it a vise. that handle is a new idea and it looks like the main screw is broken. i can tell you that it's old. is it worth anything or should somebody make bookends out of it?

Kevin, as a "vise virgin," or at least novice, I would grab that thing just for the "cool factor." What doesn't it do? Appears to be missing another function at the rear of the anvil horn too! I love it.

I wonder how well that bolt/wire cutter on the bottom would actually work. I am having a hard time visualizing how those jaws open and close. I looked at the picture for a while and I also couldn't come up with any ideas as to what the missing item that mounts in the holes on the left could be.:headscrat

To me, it looks like that red piece, to the right of the part with two holes, is part of the bolt/wire cutter, if I am following the angle right on it. Perhaps there was some sort of pivoting handle mechanism that fit into those holes.

ALL: Kevin is so damn good humored and wise that i truly thought he did it on purpose. Kevin are you looking for a good vise or do you just like searching old tools on Craigslist and Ebay? those old combo vises will become real collector items one day because so many of the ones I've seen are broken. once a hammer hits them or they get put to the side and something set on them they crack and break.
