How useful are they? Do I need a set? I mean of course I "need" them, but would I use them?

Maybe not absolutely "necessary" but they've saved my *** countless times and find myself reaching for them more often that I do standard wrenches for lower torque applications. If for some reason, all of the sudden I didn't have them, I would buy them again soon

I use my flex head ratcheting wrenches a lot more than my fixed ratcheting wrenches. Not the exact same thing, but the flex head saves your knuckles and makes a wrench viable in some situations that would otherwise require a ratchet with an extension.

I don't know about the combos, but some form of flex ratcheting wrench in your toolbox makes some jobs easier. I like the ATD long style with a flex box end on each end (a few other makers sell the same things) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008FXN0VK/?tag=atomicindus08-20

They are pretty popular around our shop.

Gearwrench makes similar ones, but with one size per wrench and a flex end at one end and fixed end at the other. Also very nice, but I think the slight offset box style of the ATDs gets you in on some bolts easier when you need a touch of height but not much.

Only flex line wrenches for me.
Other than that i just use crows feet. Never seen a real need for them personally.

flex head combo what?
Flex head combination wrench, what else would I be talking about?

I do have a couple flex head rats and honestly I am not a huge fan, think I'd use and like them more if they had a fixed head.

Extremely versatile. If you do any amount of mechanical work, they will save your **** one day. I have 4 different types and they all get used sometime or another

Well, as luck would have it, these were 30 bucks at Menards today. Thanks for the input, Guys.
