OK, I am in the market for a set of Metric flex head wrenches.

Needs:
1) 12 point
2) Set that won't break the bank
3) Weekend warrior- so high end set not necessary
4) prefer a storage roll/case
5) Could be double ended - but not required

Suggestions?
I have looked but way to many options from $40 cheap sets that I am sure I would not like to $300 sets that I am sure I don't need.

Looking to spend $75-maybe $100

I know you said 12pt, but if you are unable to locate those to your liking, try looking at the Tekton sets.

I have the long pattern and those are friggin awesome for the price. I use those almost exclusively. The extra length has never posed an issue 90% of the time and the length makes everything super easy...

I'll double down on this recommendation. I've got both sets in metric and SAE. They are in constant use and other then the occasional irritating bump of the direction button have nothing to gripe about. I wouldn't suggest any of the new gear wrench stuff. About everything I've bought in the last several years have been problematic as far as rat wrenches go.

So the Mountain is 90 tooth and the ATD/Platinum is 72 tooth? That looks to be the only difference between the two.

I think the Mountain set fits the bill nicely, while a little more than I planned.

I have a set of straight Craftsman ratcheting wrenches and won't buy another set of them, frustrated on the mechanism and how they hang up or not catch in some orientations.

Williams Taiwan (Blue Point) are really nice, but sadly only offer combos, not double box. Been planning on those Mountain wrenches for years until I tried the Tektons, will be going for more of those as needed in the future.

I just paid 200 for a master SAE and Metric set of offset/reversible Gearwrenches.

If you dont want the offset/reversible its even cheaper.
I own straight, flex and offset/reversible and find the offset/reversible the most useful so I got an extra master set. I'd suggest getting master sets in whatever you get.

FLEX - https://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDisplay.cfm?lookup=KDT9902D

I also wouldnt get the Mountain set as a first time set. You want open ended normal sized wrenches to start with. When you need 6 point long patterns, look for something like the Mountain. Same will come when you need stubby.

Anyone find a brand which holds up well to daily use? I've had issues with Steelman (just broke another), and Mountain.

Looks like the Carlyle ones have the same button in head design as Mountain - Same tools?

That's why the mountain brand... Lifetime warranty.. Breaking will occur depending on how much power yu crank down on it...depends on each user application..
For me, it's been great, haven't broken yet..

Haven't broken my Carlyle ones yet, but only been using them daily for 5 or 6(?) weeks now. I certainly can see them breaking tho, the selector often ends up jammed up against something and I'm just waiting for them to lock up, that's what worries me the most.

Anyone looking at these long style grab that Napa Carlyle set as they proper decent and a steal buy for 115.99 price, add rewards to that and it unbeatable. Cheaper and better than other 2 common sets .
I beat mine pretty hard and no issues to date even with loose flex joints, the button design exact same as the taiwan made stahlville reverse ratchet wrenches (possibly same oem ?) which while works nice sometimes it in the way ...

Bumping this post - these things are listed at $310 now (?!?). The Tektons look like a way better deal but you lose the ability to deal with 12 point fasteners and they are not offset at all. Any other good options at this point?
