Flexable supply line from compressor to wall??

I need a flexible air supply line that goes from my compressor to the ridged hard lines mounted to the garage walls. I could use a short rubber air hose but I think they make a special hose for this. What should I use for a professional install?

I use a hydraulic hose from tractor supply and a plumbing union. Make sure hose rating exceeds your max pressure.

Tractor supply hoses are rated at 4,000PSI so that will work.

that sounds like a really good ideal, plumb a couple of glad handles on it and you have a easy connect, disconnect. vibrations should not effect the connection.

We worry to tears about "restrictions" and it is worth noting that hyd fittings do have quite a bit in the fittings. On 2 stage systems this isn't such an issue but if it was a single feed may consider a 3/4 in this case. I have 2 comps, 1/2 from each to the manifold and I use hyd lines. I have about 18 inches of 1/2 pipe goes to it, it was a design booger on my part but I got to get away from the 1/10th % it would cause on a large gun especially since there is 100 ft of 1/2 on one circuit down the line and 20 ft of it as well as a couple 3/8 pipe fittings in to a reg that really negate all this **** anyway.
All super moot when one considers most work ends up down 50 ft of 3/8 ho0se on the secondary which is where the loss really is.
I did find a spot in my old system may have effected a 3/4 gun a pinch, after upgrades can feel a pinch more punch from it but use is so super rare its pretty much irrelevant.

Remember, truck air line is a tubing size, different than hose and way different than black pipe. For guns topping out at 1/2 this is pretty much moot.

I used the hose in the link below. The fittings and hose ID are very big. Definitely not restrictive relative to the piping, etc. Not cheap, but was handy - in stock at Northern Tool while buying other stuff for my air set-up. Not sure how it would compare price-wise to a made-up hydraulic hose.

used local hose & rubber company to make mine, was really cheap and inexpensive. custom to what i wanted...

Called around to get a custom lead in hose, min 150PSI pressure rating, 36" long, 1/2"MNPT on one end, 3/8" MNPT on the other end to go from ball valve on tank to the regulator. then a 12" 3/8" hose to go from regulator to manifold block. The manifold I oreder from Grainger, just a simple 3/8" inlet with 1/4" outlets. wanted to put on 2 female couplers just in case i need a second air line. very nice quality.

one place quoted me $45 for the lines. second place i called said $10 for hte 36" and then $5 for the 12" so they got the job. very nice hoses, all parker fitting and hose.

I used a hydraulic hose from TSC. Stiff as hell, make sure one end is swivel.

Just have one made for you install, they will put what ever size ends, male or female and swivel so you don't need a union.

I work for one and could send you something, but with the shipping time and charges you'd be better off finding something local.

I used a rubber hose whip that is for semi truck brake chambers. 15 bucks at napa with a swivel on one side.

FYI...I needed to replace all my hydraulic lines on my Kubota- a local shop was half of what the Kubota dealer wanted.

And an online shop was one half of the local shop!

This. Even my local Do It Best has a Gates or Parker (I've forgotten) crimper. The machines are stupid easy to use, even a high school dropout can probably get it right.

This way you can get any length you want and any combination of fittings.

I had the same issue sourcing something just a few weeks ago. Everyone suggests the industrial supply places, but they're not open convenient hours, ie after 5 or weekends, so that makes picking something up a real pain and I'm pretty sure their prices are going to be way higher than I was willing to pay. I figured it can't be this hard to source something that should be fairly commonly used, but I guess it is. The other suggestions I've seen on other posts were that auto parts stores will custom make them, none around me do this. I wanted a 1/2" one with a swivel on one end and couldn't even find one on-line. I ended up ordering one off Amazon (looks like the same one pictured in BearsFan's post), but didn't have a swivel end. I cut one end off and installed a barb fitting to solve that. Seemed a shame to do to a new hose, but that was my best option.

I didn't cost it out for shipping......

With a 1" NPT fitting on each end there should be no restriction in this hose..

Use a union for make up and bell couplings for sizing and never worry about restriction....

For my own stuff I have a collection new & used Aeroquip braided stainless steel hose & fittings.....

There was an old saying that "If some is good, more is better and too much is just right".....

That also goes for hose sizing...
