Hi! I came across someone in my area selling a bunch of FLEXCO rubber tiles for cheap. They sell new at $5-$7/sq ft. He selling it for $.50/sq ft. He just wants it gone and out of his storage space since he didn't build the storage shed he was planning.

Thoughts on this type of flooring?

Below I've included the link to the flooring.

Our garage is used to park cars, (we do have lots of snow in the winter) and entertain. We have a granite serving bar and TV mounted. Our floor is currently just bare concrete.

Thanks!

I have the tuffshield version and paid $6 per SF. You probably don’t need heavy rubber like this unless you are trying to seal out water. It won’t breathe like plastic tiles. I like it for my needs. Wished I had paid $0.50SF!

There will be melted snow on the tiles, that shouldn't be a problem correct? Also what glue adhesive did you use to apply the tiles? Any photos of the floor? Thanks!!!

Rubber tiles have enough weight to not require adhesive and should have interlocking seams to be waterproof. But nothing is guaranteed so you might want to use containment mats under the car. I just put mine down so I can’t tell you how it will be in winter, but I drive in snow.

No, the Flexco tiles he's looking at are only about 1/8" thick, square- edge, and need to be glued down with an appropriate adhesive.

ETA - adhesives - Johnsonite 965, Taylor Pinnacle (2091), Excelsior AW-510, DriTac MegaBond, etc.

They can be slippery when wet. Not sure how they'd hold up to auto tires - the rubber flooring is tough as nails but I'm not sure if it would discolor.

Most rubber flooring products aren't particularly resistant to oil and grease, and can stain and bulge/ distort with too much exposure.

Ok. Looks similar from the surface. I did not want an adhesive tile. I can change tiles fairly easily if ever needed.
