Just saw this today and grabbed a brochure. Has the circle style top, and the tiles are large -- 20x20 or 24x24 I would guess. Cost was $10.97 per tile for black and grey, $12 or $13 for other colors. Just another solution I had not seen before, and searched the forums here first, but nothing came up. The comapny name is Reflex Mouldings, out of Kansas City, MO.

I picked up that same pamplet yesterday at Lowes. I'm seriously considering the black and white ones for my kitchen floor. It would go with my "garage" themed decor. My only concern is cleanability. I know it says it's very easily cleanable BUT I don't want every mark showing every time someone walks on it. Also, the $4.34 per square foot for the dark colored ones seems abit steep.

Anyone have any experience with these tiles??

The price is really more than that - they are 20" tiles which makes it almost $4.75 sq/ft for the $13 ones and just over $4 sq/ft for the black/gray. That's more than Racedeck and there is some tile on eBay for about $2 sq/ft.

I saw some of those at a close out at Big Lots for $3.99 a four pack, thats .25 a square foot. Since I would be driving on them, I passed them up.

Those are the same tiles we have had in our basement for a few years. We bought ours direct from lock-tile and got a much better deal.
I like them, but don't want the "puzzle" edge in my garage so I'm looking at the rubber Bigfoot tiles as an alternative.

Hey what I have in my garage is from premier flooring. Check then out i got my for LIKE 2.31 SQFT, and i love then. I am in no way conneced to this company. I just did alot of priceing a comparing of floors for what i would use it for and it came down to the verstile due to the quality and price.

I got the bigfoot tile sample and I just thought they were to thin. The veratile is like .25'' thick and it feels good on your feet if you are on it alot.
after shipping the order came out to just less that $12 a tile.

At $12 a tile that would be $3 a square foot since they are four square per tile. I just got a quote from them and they were $2.80 a square foot. Include shipping and the price goes up to $3.24 for my 1440 square foot garage. I guess that epoxy is my only reasonable option.

Yea with that amount of floor to do I would have to go with the epoxy also, If my floor was new and did not need all my time and effort to clear the garage out, prep the floor, and then do the epoxy. With the floor tile i was done in a few hours.

True - but you can purchase the Flexi-Tile for a little less than Lowes at www.flexitiles.com. Additionally the Race Deck and Flexi-Tile are not similar products. The Race Deck is a hard solid plastic tile, whereas the Flexi-Tile is a flexible pvc material. Race Deck offers a 15 year mfg warranty, but Flexi-Tile offers a 25 year manufacturer warranty. Both are some of the best products on the market in their field, but it really comes down to preference - do you want a hard tile, or do you want some cushion? The cheap tiles on ebay break easy and the locking edges break too. You get what you pay for.

With 2-3 coats of sealer as recomended clean up should be a snap and foot prints not a problem ? Worth the money, I don't know, but an interesting product that I will be watching.....H

Per product site:
>>>>Flexi-Tile’s impervious surface means that it is quick and easy to clean. A damp mopping machine or hand scrub is ideal. To enhance and maintain Flexi-Tile's appearance 2-3 coats of a sealer may be applied to the tile after installation. >>>

I just sent them an email regarding the non-textured style; I don't like the circle texture. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to be harder to clean, and wheels tend to roll funny over the circles. I remember walking through an airport with flexi-type surface, and all the luggage wheels were clickety-clacking on the tiles; annoying. A creeper's small-diameter wheels would tend to bind up on such a surface. Hopefully they'll send some info on the smooth tiles (if they exist.)

FYI.....Tuff Seal has a semi smooth textured tile
I believe the tuff seal tile is the top of the line in this type of flooring...the tiles interlock so fluids etc can't seep through to the floor. I believe they are $$ though, but no more than the Lowes tiles ($3.75-$5/sq.ft.)

BoCRon has a thread on them:

Sam's club has their flexible tile on sale right now for 25.94 for a box of 6 tiles. The tiles are 18.63" squares which comes to about 1.84 per sf.

Here's a though that I did. I went on Ebay and got a 20% off Home Depot coupon for $10 shipped and used it at Lowes for my garage cabinets. Lowes accepts competitors coupons and it saved me $400. Maybe you could do that for your tiles too. Just a thought! Good Luck!

If you're considering the PVC tiles, I'd look at Locktile. I wanted something softer and quieter than Race Deck, and after looking at a bunch of options/samples, I just installed Lock-tile. I'm very happy with it. It was about $3.40/sq. ft. direct from Ever-tile. Bigfoot is quite a bit cheaper, but also thinner. Tuff-Seal is really nice, but substantially more $$ (close to $5/sq. ft. as I recall).

I am in process of building and searching the floor options. I like the look of epoxy but worry about peeling and chippping. I plan to restore my MGB in the new garage so I will be doing grinding, welding, and cussing on the new floor.
Plus will be using a floor jack, jack stands, and a creeper.

On the Locktile I like the thought of it having a cushion but will it hold up in a working environment?

I've been selling the Flexi-Tile for about 12 months now, it's a great product. White will show all the dirt, but you can wax these tiles with a standard household wax that approved to use on vinyl which will give the tiles an added seal. Our prices are more competitive than Lowes - check out http://www.flexitiles.com.

John - The Race Deck is a different tile than the Flexi-tile. Race deck is a good product, its 12" tiles, but a hard non flexible tile, comes with a 15 year manufacturer warrnaty. The Flexi-tiles are 20" x 20" x 5mm - and are flexible/cushioned with a 25 year manufacturer warranty. So it depeneds on look and feel your going for. http://www.flexitiles.com - prices are cheaper than Lowes.

Just purchased two boxes at Lowe's yesterday. They were $6.25 per tile after tax. I don't know where the $10-$14 numbers are coming from.

Flexi tile at Lowe's NH and MA 1.99 sqft for black and gray. Special order colors are like 15.00 per 20.5 x 20.5 tile. Also for the person that didn't want the puzzle look in their garage, you can purchase corner, straight and ramped edging. I just did my enclosed trailer and this stuff is real nice. Also if you want to save a few bucks....buy a 20% off Home Depot coupon from Ebay and most Lowe's will accept it. I used them twice with no problem.

I am also debating the type of flooring I want in my shop. I'm leaning towards this type of covering over epoxy, hoping to make the floor more 'gentle' on the feet since I do throw parties in the shop. Hopefully it provides more cushion by going this route.

Just to clarify comments on RaceDeck and do not have any negative to say about Flexitile it is a 'good product' -
We offer both 12"x12" and 18"x18" tiles that are made from a high impact coploymer engineered for the garage enviroment. We also have a product line called Duragrid http://www.duragrid.com that is made from a high grade 'soft' pvc material, though we do not recomend or market this product line for the garage enviroment. You can see all of our product lines at http://www.snaplock.com

Any thoughts about water getting trapped underneath the Flexi-Tile? I have moved into a new house and have no idea as to whether the garage was poured with a proper vapor barrier. I would assume it has since it was built in the 80's and should have been code at that time.

I like the breathability of TrafficMaster style tiling, but I prefer the look ,flexibility, and easy installation of Flexi-Tile.
