In process of installing an Aprilaire 800 steam humidifier feed to duct. Steam feed hose provided is 6ft. long, 1.5" OD and semi flexible (came in a coil in the box). Instructions recommend insulating the hose with 1" thick insulation capable of withstanding 212°F. Seeking some kind of wrap (I think). Google wasn't much help. I assume the foil faced bubblewrap stuff I have a leftover roll of will melt. Links to recommended products appreciated.

Though I'd prefer the Armaflex UTSolaflex, it can't be found anywhere. I'm only lookinfg for 6ft, so not going to bother contacting Armacell. Checked out the Armaflex, but max temp on that is 180°F. Looks like I'm stuck with the fiberglass wrap (I hate working with that stuff).

Found another product similar to Armaflex UTSolaflex = K-Flex HT (rated to 300°F). Here's a link to a 2017 price list pdf if anyone is interested. Stuff is darn expensive. 1 5/8 ID, 1" wall, 6ft Length = $100

Did you try contacting a local mechanical insulation contractor? Also try a commercial solar contractor to see who they use as a subcontractor for insulation.Armaflex can probably get you a contact if you talk to an area rep.

For short sections at work, we use the same thing that summit sells as header wrap. Comes in a 2 inch roll, wrap the pipe and put a hose clamp on it at the end. Over this you can add normal fiberglass wrap if needed.

Good idea...then cover it with regular Armaflex.

I placed the order with Zoro yesterday at 4 PM and received notice that it shipped at 8 PM. That's pretty impressive.

I just got home from work and see a 6ft long Zoro box leaning up against my garage door. So it arrived less than 24 hrs. after I placed the order via standard UPS ground shipping ($5).
