This site is very informative for the DIY guy. I did my garage floor two years ago with a Big Box store water based epoxy paint. Bad Move. Now, my garage floor looks like **** with hot tire pick-up and many areas of peeling.
I paid about $1,000 in materials and labor (hired a painter) to do the floor and prep work. Now, I need to Acid-etch and/or spot sand the old epoxy prior to replacing the epoxy paint.
After days of research on the internet and many wholesale epoxy sites I have settled on two solutions for me (a non DIYer). RaceDeck (or equivalent) or the NEW Flexmar Coating system which carries a ten year warranty and dries in 24 hours.
The Flexmar system costs MORE (about $1.50 more per foot) than Racedeck for my garage Installed. Which way should I go? The money is secondary to a quality, long lasting, beautiful garage floor. What about Quartztile with Quartz tile grout?
I don't want to do this project again for at least TEN years so which PROFESSIONAL product should I choose for my ugly, water based epoxy garage floor?
Thanks.
Flexmar is sold/installed by Slide-lok dealers (www.slide-lok.com)
