Flexzilla Air hose

Hi,

Looking at picking up a Flexzilla air hose.

Being in the UK this will be a bit more effort for me as we don't have dealers here, so before i dive into it any comments on them ?

I'm after my own hose at work, the standard rubber ones fitted to the reels are completely ****.

As a Snappy green tool fan are the hose's green or more yellow ?

Dont use them where you are cutting or welding. They are very prone to melting.

Oh that's a concern, i do a lot of welding and cutting with air tools.

Its all I use because of the cold here, stays flexible even at 30-40F. I take care to avoid sparks, but have had no problems having it around when plasma cutting or welding. Always have the die grinders out and have yet to have a spark do more than leave a mark, no melting or pitting. It is more yellow than green I would also say.

I have a couple 1/2 Speedaire hoses made by Flexzilla at work, No problems with melting them, but I'm the only one using them and I dont let them get near heat/spatter. We had Flexzilla 3/8 hoses at the shop. They didnt last as not everybody is as careful as I am.

I like the low temp. flexability. Much better then rubber hoses.

I have used them for 4 years and I have not had a problem and really liked them. The only thing I don't like is they get dirty and look terrible I wish they came in dark colors.

I loved mine till 3 months after the warranty ran out.

I was working underhood on a car, and I heard the hose let go. It blew the end off of it and the projectile hit the LF hubcap of the car I was working on.

My wife was going to call the company and talk to them about it, but I told her not to bother, I had lost my confidence in them.

I sincerely hope everybody else has better service out of theirs.Edit here: I did take care of mine also, never any abuse or misuse at all.

Oh yeah, if you are in the "average" shop, it is not going to make much difference what color it is now, that will change drastically. They get dirty quick and bad.I kept mine fairly clean, but it took time I should not have put toward the effort.

They are very flexible at what ever temp you can throw at them.

I still have a few of the old rubber ones around in case I need to reach some far off place with my air. For the most part I use them exclusively.

The guys are right, they do not like heat. I have been lucky with the grinding and welding sparks.

I smoke. it seems like at least once a summer the fan I run in the garage will blow discarded cigarette up next to them. It takes no time for them to burn a hole in the hose. It has happened a few times, so I just have a few shorter hoses, than what you can buy. A barb fitting and the 1/2 pex clamp work great at replacing an end.

As far as cleaning them. I have a hot water parts washer, that runs like a dishwasher. A few minutes in there and they look good as new.

I've only had PVC air hoses prior, never had a rubber hose. I absolutely love mine. It's flexible in any temperature, easy to roll back up, and doesn't kink.

My only gripe is the color. I wish it was black or red or something not quite as bold. I understand the marketing behind it though and functionally it is excellent. I can look past the color. As others mentioned, it does get very dirty very quickly despite my best efforts to keep a clean work area.

Love mine, especially in the winter. It stays with the compressor on my truck. Held up well through a tough year and a half so far.

Good to know! I thought the Flexzilla hose was something patented/unique and didn't realize there were similar options. No luck finding the Napa version on their site, but I did find this Tekton on Amazon:

Are the old snap on green airlines Flexzilla ?

I notice that they are made in the USA and have very similar fittings on them.

I have a few FLexzillas however they are still in the packaging. I picked them up for CHEAP when TSC was closing them out. I also have 2 of the Smart Flex hoses, anybody have a review of those? I picked them up for when I replumb the machine shop. Hope to get some work done on that project after I finish my wifes barn. Keith

I have a Flexzilla hose reel on the wood shop side of the garage. I'm happy with it and the hose does stay quite flexible.

I'd call it lime green in color.

I buy them in bulk rolls off Ebay and then buy the ends separtly off amazon. I love them. I have over 450ft of flexzillas and we use them in all weather conditions and welding and cutting

I like their flexibility, but I have also had several ends blow off. It will have very little warning, just a light hiss of air near the coupler, then pow. The flexible hose that it is whips around until you shut off the air to it. Using them in the dealership I work in they last a year and a half to three years under constant use and shop air pressure of 145-155psi.

I have 2 Flexeel's which are nice. Have not tried Flexilla but always heard good things.

Finally got my hose, 50 feet x 3/8 with the pro reusable fittings.

Made in China though

Also does it come with BSP or NPT fittings.

I bought it from Bridge Engineering UK LTD who are the UK dealer.

They sell it as required - so they cut what ever length you want and give you what ever fittings you want.

I went with 1/4 NPT fittings.

I wasn't happy at all with my Flexzilla 1/4 100' hose. I returned it.
It constantly kinked on me, and had a ton of memory.
