well it depends, for some people they not have access to the trucks.which means if you don't have a dealer, thats the reason you are bidding on this ratchet.if you pay $80 or more for it and it breaks you are on your own.

For guys who have snap-on stuff and trucks don't come by how hard is it to get them replaced/rebuilt?

I buy from snap-on on-line lately. They ship fast, always email tracking info, and so far have gotten fresh new tools and sets, unlike the truck were sometimes you go to buy a set and they have to fill in some of the pieces from stock that they previously took. I know I'm nitpicking.

Speaking purely of my own experiences in the past, I've found it easier to do warranty claims through corporate then with a "lot" of the trucks.

How ever I haven't dealt with them in the past year. So things may have changed.

And as always add the disclaimer that your experiences may vary.

That is a very nice looking ratchet. If I was still working a lot I'd get one.

How ever for my needs now, I'll stick with my Proto spin flex's.
After all 7 dollars is a lot easier on the pension then the 80 to a 120 this will probably go.

How have you had corporate companies like Snap-On to do a exchange? I have emailed them and they alway point me in the direction of my local dealer. I always get stuff refused from him; if you know how to or have successfully gotten a warranty issue resolved please advise. If I could get my stuff done without interfacing with my local dealer, it would be nice and help eliminate these broken Snap-On stuff in my toolbox! Any info appreciated! :)

I always just had to be persistent. If the emails were given the shuffle off a phone call to customer service has helped at times.

There were a couple of times that having a lawyer as a friend helped as well...

As I have mentioned before on this board, I like Snappy tools however they have the most inconsistent warranty determinations possible.

If they keep trying to shuffle you off on the driver try getting the district sales managers contact and dealing with him.

From Snap-on's web site "To obtain warranty service, return products to Snap-on or a Snap-on dealer. By repairing or replacing a Product, or providing a refund, Snap-on does not waive a claim that a Product nevertheless has been subject to abnormal use."

Make them live up to it.
