Flood Light w/built in Electrical Socket

Has anyone here ever seen a flood light that has a built in electrical socket? I could have sworn that my old house had one but can't seem to find anything online.

I assume you mean receptacle by the term "socket", if there was one it would be doubtful it could be listed by a NRTL such as UL because the receptacle would require GFCI protection, which is one reason you never see a receptacle on electric ranges anymore either.

Yes, I meant receptacle. My southern expressions shine through sometimes.

You could simply install a GFCI breaker in the panel to solve the GFCI issue.
It still seems like someone would make one. Instead, it looks like an outlet will have to get installed in the location I need it.

If this is outside, it would require a waterproof in use cover. That's harder than GFCI protection.

Thanks, missed that one. But if in a protected area then not required, if there were what the OP is requesting it went away because of lack of demand or too hard to comply with code.

He is looking for an outdoor flood light, not just a simple light socket with the receptacle on the side.

What I have seen several people do is buy a flood light that has three lights, and then remove the light bulb out of the center light socket and then put in one of those cheap screw in receptacles you can put into light sockets.

Code violation? Oh yeah. Does it work? Oh yeah. Would I do it? Only if the flood light was mounted in an area where it would not get directly rained on.
