Floor buffer parts?

Looking to convert a old SSS floor buffer to be able to use the sanding / diamond pad driver that are available at my local home depot and other rental centers. The rental pad drivers have a three slot clocking mounting system for the pad driver. I need the part (Gimble?) that I can adapt to my SSS buffer. I can't find anything on line. Any help would be appreciated.

You should be able to use the pad driver the machine came with. Why do you want to convert it. Is it a high speed 1500 rpm of a slow speed 175 rpm?

This old machine was used in a school. It's pad driver is simply the driver screwed onto a metal hub that is splined onto the motor. there is no way to use the newer 'quick change' drivers without some sort of way to mount it. Oh, diamond pad driver for this machine is just short $750.00 and I have no need to own it. I'd like to have the option of using a rental pad which in my aea is about $75.00 for 24 hours.

I think that we need a picture of both your machine showing the part that the pads mount to and a picture of the type of driver you want to use on it. Hard to make suggestions otherwise. You might have to get something custom made.

You need to find a clutch plate that fits your buffer. Something like this that attaches to the buffer pad.

I'll take a couple of pictures when I get back home in a couple of days. Thanks to those who have chimed in!
