I am planning to do a polyurea coating when the weather breaks in the spring. By then, much of the garage will be done and I will be installing a 2-post lift. I assume it's best to finish the floor coating first, so "no cutting in." My only concern here is gouging the floor while moving the columns into place. Thoughts?

Well if it’s done after you won’t have it fully covered. Place for oil or fluid to get under.
It’s gonna get nicked and scratched. Come to terms with that. Even a little pebble in front of a floor jack will scratch.
Pro and con to either one

I just finished this job yesterday. I installed the coating on the floor first before installing my lift. I did it this way because the floor was clean make that oil free, and the garage was empty and yes I did put small scratches in the coating. As was stated earlier this was going to happen sooner or later I work on cars and other vehicles.

My lift is the platform or scissor lift style. I installed it after the floor coating because I wanted full coverage.

Thanks- the more I think about it the more it makes sense. If I install the lift first, I will use it and get oil all over the floor. Also, grinding to prep the floor will be harder with the lift installed.

Applied my garage floor epoxy before installing Mohawk 2 post lift. Laid down layers of thick cardboard in preparation of lift install. Had forklift in garage moving lift posts and had no damage to epoxy.

I’m in the process of installing mine right now, I did the floor first then the lift. I used masking tape to mark off were the posts needed to go ,had each post on furniture dollies rolled the post over to were it needed to be. Laid a couple of thick towels down for the sharpe edge of the column to rest on as it was raised, once resided tilted the columns to remove the towels. Did all this by my self with no damage.
