Any concerns about using epoxy or any other floor protective covering on a brand new cement slab? Not sure if the slab should cure for a certain amount of time or not. And with a fresh floor, is there a need to still prep it with acid?

I believe you'll want to wait about 60 days for it to cure. You'll still have to etch it.

CNK is correct. I would still do a moisture test prior to coating.
Acid or a grind, choose your poison. New concrete or old, the cream has to be broken to allow the epoxy to get a mechanical bond to the substrate.

I agree with Alpha, 28-30 days is suitable for a cure time. Even new concrete will need to be prepped either mechanically or chemically.
