Hello,
I know that there are a lot of great floor coating options out there. I plan on having my floor poured here hopefully in another month or so. (40x50) building. It will be a smooth machine troweled finish floor. Would I have to grind to floor for the coating to stick? Would acid etching the smooth floor be enough? I am looking for something to hold up for 10+ years. This will be a evening/weekend garage.

Thanks!

You would need to acid etch at a minimum. Grinding would be preferable though with a machine troweled floor.

It depends really on the coating. Power troweled acid etching is going to be a minimum. If I were doing 100% solids epoxy I would grind. Do you have any option on that... skip the power trowel? Then Rust Bullet?

The one part of the floor is already completed and it power troweled. If I just wanted to clear seal the floor, would I still need to grind?
