Mine is over 40 years old, I have no idea who made it as I've repaired it so many times over the years that I don't think anything but the metal wheels are original! :)

I find I use carpet pieces as much as the creeper anymore.

x2 on the Jeepers Creeper. Comfortable and low. Hopefully I won't be needing it much longer, working on putting a lift in the shop!!!

I have a Snap-on heavy duty creeper, I can't remember the model number. It's the fat boy special. I paid $60 off of craigslist a couple of years ago. Don't let your dealer BS you, the wheels are a warranty item.

I have the popular HF one. Works great for the price, not sure how it will hold up over time. It's a little flexy. I weigh 170 and have no problems, but i'd suspect big guys closer to 250 it wouldn't be strong enough for.

I'd like to get a nicer one, but I love the side trays for holding your tools. Ones like the bone don't have them.

I have a bone. It has many outstanding features. High quality and well built, rolls over concrete joints as advertised, does not get stuck, is very smooth, is very comfortable, is very low to the ground.

It has only one feature that is a negative and that is the wheel humps can interfere with my arm when trying to use a wrench. Mostly just a matter of repositioning.

All in all it is by far better than any other creeper I have used and I recommend it.

I have an R-E-L mechanics creeper. Basic black metal frame with dips in the sides for your arms, four small casters, and a black upholstered cushion down the middle.

Probably bought it either at a parts store or at wal-mart about a decade ago.

I own a heavy duty, wide frame Snap-on and it has been beat up for over 11 years and it's still going. It's been recovered a few times.

I also own a standard frame Snap-on and it is my main creeper. It's over 8 years old and still going. I got this one because it sits lower than the other one, and it fits inbetween tandem's better.

These are used professionally everyday.

I currently have 2. I have a JCW60R and a JCPW40B. I must admit the "4 wheel drive" creeper, as I've named it, is awesome. Probably not worth the retail price but I got both of them at work as throwaways. New condition. Sometimes the military pays off afterall.

I've got one from Northern Tool. Works O.K. but lately, I've been using a sheet of cardboard. It's about as easy as a creeper for scooting in and out from under a vehicle and allows more clearance.

I also don't have the problem of constantly losing/running over tools under the creeper.

i have a few of the HF units, they are nice but you must have a perfectly clean floor for them to roll. Now I keep the floor very clean in the shop, but when your working on farm equipment and semis it gets dirty fast, even a floor dry pile is enough to slow this creeper down. Other than that its nice, i really like the side pockets, and when they get ruined (ran over etc.) they are cheap to replace.

I have a heavy duty Snap On JCW70BL. Its currently sitting on 3 casters, one broke and I'm still waiting on the replacement. It's been 3 weeks and my dealer has not got it in. Another guy at the shop has the exact same creeper and it also has a broken caster. It's extremely heavy and I haven't been overly impressed with it. I should have bought the bone.

Just get one with 4 (not 6) good wheels and a body that covers the wheels. Nothing worse than an open 6 wheel creeper...good luck moving anywhere without your shirt jamming a center wheel.

I have a bone FWIW.

My creeper doesn't get as much use I it should, since I have a lift. But it still is useful, and I enjoy using it.

Here's a pic of it hanging on the wall.

I have a matching chair, with the same cool casters, etc. Great for detailing, and working on the front of the car to remove bugs, etc.

I had the same problem. My Snappy told me that the wheels weren't a warranty item, so I had him get me one and I paid for it. Reading on here that the wheels ARE a warranty item, I e-mailed Snap-on. The person at customer service answered my "Are they warrantied"? question with "Sure, how many do you need"? So they sent me one out. I printed out the e-mail and showed it to my Snappy dealer and he credited my account. So, I have a spare, when I blow out a wheel I use my spare and the dealer orders me a new one. Try it, they didn't even ask me who my dealer was so you don't have to worry about getting your dealer in trouble. BTW, I thought my dealer was selling warranty creeper wheels as a new revenue stream. Actually, he had been in the business so long that he had had to eat creeper wheels back in the day when they weren't a warranty item. If your dealer won't warranty something that you think should be warranty, check with the company. He might have missed a policy change and be operating under old rules.

I paid out the *** for a Snap-on one. When it turned up i needed the tweak the hell out of it to get everything straight. The frame being so low gets stuck all the time on anything but a perfectly flat floor. I have to say, for what i paid i'm not impressed.

I wouldn't buy another. Dunno if they've changed, mine is only a couple years old and it drives me f**king insane trying to use it.

The Kreepster (posted by BoostAddiction) is indeed fast, since it has inline skate wheels for casters. The current one also has the ability to lock two of the wheels for those times you need to stay put. I put one on my wish list a couple of weeks ago because I've grown tired of the shortcomings of the Bonester.

I've yet to meet the one perfect creeper. The Bone models roll great and are fairly low-profile for the size of the casters, but the lack of usable headrest is a pain in the neck for long stints under the car, there's nowhere to set fasteners you've removed (or your tools), and sometimes I want to be able to lock myself in position or at least not roll really easily. The Kreepster is wide in comparison (and somewhat tall), heavier, etc. but addresses the Bonester's shortcomings.

The Kreepster is designed here, but I think it is made overseas- probably in China, though I can't be sure. I love the Kreepster, except for the COO part.

It's easy to move around in with the skate wheels, has pockets to hold fasteners as you need them or take them off, has an adjustable headrest and is more comfy than it might seem.

It's not as low as some creepers, but that hasn't bothered me so far.

Have any of you guys seen any creepers similar to design as the harbor freight one but very high quality?

I'd love to invest in a really nice metal frame creeper, but none have the little tool trays built in that I love so much.

Its funny. I have been a auto tech for 30 years. I own a creeper but dont like using it? At work we use lifts and I have no issues getting under a car when its on one. But there is just something about laying under a car thats just above me I just dont like? Creeps me out. Even with overkill jack stands all over it. I just dont feel safe!!! When actually its probably safer. Maybe because I cant run if I need too? I feel trapped.

I don't like going under any cars that arnt tall enough to sit on all 4 wheels with me under it. My trucks tall enough I can just fit my fat gut under the trans skidplate and roll around just fine. Had to help change the oil in my cusins miata one time. Miserable and scary. could hardly jack the car up enough to put the jack stands under it, and then it was bearly tall enough to get under at all.
