All,

I will be having my shop floor layed down in about 2 weeks, so I am wanting to know what finish I should go with so I can put down a durable finish. Looking for something that doesn't flake or peel apart like you would find at home depot/lowes. Has anyone used Rhino Linings floor coating? How long after the concrete is poured will I have to wait to put the finish down too? Thanks for all the help.

Usually 30 days after pour is what is recommended.
You don't post much 2 since 2015?
Don't know much about the Rhino lining epoxy but I see the "Garage Rehab" with Richard Rawlings uses it all the time of course that's a sponsor thing.

I don't waste my time or money with epoxies. They will all turn to **** eventually. Instead I use a wax concrete sealer. It has a gloss finish and will stop any oils from penetrating the concrete. Clean up is simple. Depending on the traffic and use a new coat might be needed every couple years. Just power wash, let dry, mop a fresh coat.

Normally 30 days or more is required to put down an epoxy system. We offer several systems including penetrating sealers, polyaspartics and 100% solids epoxy systems.

Of pouring a new slab, don't have them mix in a sealer, as that will need to be grinded off if applying a coating and such.

You need to give product details, what is it you use?

The Rhino Linings epoxy floor coating kits are the same as the home improvement center kits. It's a water based epoxy similar to Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield. I wouldn't recommend it. However, their commercial coating products are pretty good. I helped a neighbor with an installation that included an epoxy primer, a high solids epoxy color coat, a colored polyurethane coat, and a polyurethane clear. His garage is open all the time exposed to the sun. It's been 4 years since his project and the floor still looks great.

ArmorPoxy as well as the other vendors who participate on this forum all have excellent, commercial quality product as well. That said, how do you plan on using your floor? Floor coatings are great, but if it's the type of shop with metal fabricating, welding, grinding, and that kind of work, coatings are not always the best option.

Thanks for getting back to me, basic work on vehicles in the garage, no metal work or anything crazy. Just want something to look great and last. There will probably be the occasional fluid spill.

Yes, member since 2015, that's when I wanted to get my shop going, well the military has kept me away till recently, so I am getting back into it.

All help is appreciated, thanks all.
