Hi I am a newbie to this site and just built a 36 x40 car barn/garage and am still finishing it. It is shaped like moniter barn with a two story 20x36 center section 12 foot ceilings on 1st and 7 foot on second. The two sides are 8 foot at the walls and 12 foot near the center section they are 10 x 36 feet.I have put in radient floor heat and need to know what floor finish will work with this for maximum heat transfer and protection! Epoxy, stain etc. I really don,t have to worry too much about lifespan as I am at that age when everything I buy has my lifetime gaurentee!!!!http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/images/smilies/beer.gif

Don't think it matter what floor finish as the radiant will heat the finish. I have thick epoxy and it works great.

Carpet and glue-on don't mix well w/ radiant floor heat, but you likely aren't thinking of that in a garage anyway. Whatever you do, don't paint with something hard and shiny; slick. Check w/ any manufacturer about what temps their stuff can take, then git 'er done.
