Anyone know of anywhere selling floor jack and jack stand base plates? Something to disperse the weight over more of an area for soft surfaces. The place we are moving into has a asphalt driveway and I don't want to ruin it or have anything sink down on me while under it.

I've found some off-road one made specifically for a harbor freight jack, so I guess a lot of off-roaders like that harbor freight jack. Their setup is like $160 but it's an entire skid plate for the entire jack. For driveway use I don't need anything near as fancy.

Thanks

Look around a junkyard...I found some 1/8" tread plates cut 14 X 25" for a couple of bucks each. Guy at the yard said they were blanks for combine stairs.

I used to use them for both the jack and stands on an asphalt drive....got concrete now.

Plywood would work but I would want to round over the edges a little with a sander.
Lots of crane or boom trucks use 18x18 aluminum or steel plates to disperse the load on soft surfaces
