Floor jack clip

I have an unknown brand 1.5 ton floor jack that I bought at an auction. It was missing the clip the connects the handle to the piston. I found one on a random jack parts website and got it installed but it doesn't seem strong enough. I've bent it twice and it just pops off. My father in law has a similar jack and the clip is 3 sided metal that has an opening on the bottom to slide in to the piston then a pin and cotter pin connect the handle to the clip. Any thoughts on where I can find something like this?

There is a handful of sizes, what is the diameter of the groove on the pump piston where the clip sits?
