First let me say Awesome forum! I always end up here when looking for info on high quality tools and such!

Can you help me with this jack that I found on craigslist, My guess is it is an old Hein werner 4ton but hard to tell from the crappy c-list pics. If you can ID it do you think I can still find parts or at least seals for it? Thanks!

Agree, looks like a HW long body 4 ton. You may want to check rebuild kit price on that, if needed. Some of those can get pretty expensive. Hard parts are pretty difficult to find.

Thanks for the help, yeah if I knew the model I would look the rebuild kit up. He says it works great, will lift up a diesel pickup no problem...

I'm not 100% sure on the model number. But if it is what I think it is IIRC the kits are ~$100. Just make sure none of the hard parts are worn, cracked or otherwise. Check the frame for twists or bends. What do they want for it? Yes it lifts, but does it hold? It looks like it is missing the rear cover.

he is asking $200 for is and if like you said none of the hard parts are worn I was thinking I would pay $150. Much better than a new jack china jack but I would like it to function correctly for that kind of money. I was thinking I would do a quick sand blast and epoxy prime and just use it until it needs a rebuild. Thanks for the insight !!

Heck yes 4ton hein werner if you don't I will. Seriously that is a good jack if you get and don't want it let me know. Lazzar hydraulics for seals and maybe hiball will check in he is the resident jack of all jacks.

I ended up buying it for $150, was a little skeptic as my F250 is under the knife for some minor rust repair and up grades. I was forced to use my Escape with only 10k miles on it, (she was worried I was going to get it dirty!) and that's all I had to test the lift of the jack with. When I got home she picked up the front of the diesel truck no problem so I guess I did ok.

It looks like it needs a few things such as a c-clip and a weird grease fitting that doesn't have a hex to remove with a socket, are they pressed in?
wouldn't mind changing the hydo fluid either but I think I am going to need to start off by identifying the model of the thing first!

Thanks for the input guys I might have passed if I didn't hear from anyone!

Yeah it is a good jack I looking for one to do the all service work on 3500 duramax. Is there a tag on base of the handle ? May or may not be there it looks like it has lived a rough life. Glad it works and you got a very good deal on it. It looks to be missing the springs to return/and keep the handle upright as well ?

No I can't find a label on it, most likely removed when someone painted it years ago. I don't know if there are supposed to be springs to keep the handle up or not but there is a working lever on the handle that moves a pin to keep the handle up. This looks like it might have been spring assisted at some point.
here are a few pics, excuse my truck its still covered up as the bed is off and the off road bumper still on the pallet waiting on paint.

The jack will get blasted and painted after the truck is back on the road, one thing at a time!

not a jack expert, but it looks like the very friendly short-haired fuzzy model. I'd say maybe 6 years old..
