Floor Jack identification help

Hi, new to the forum, a friend wants me to rebuild this jack. It leaks from the pump piston seals. I will attach some pictures. I have an issue after trying to remove the pump because when the wrench rounded off the bolt it pushed some metal in the inside. Before I removed it the piston slid easily from end to end. Now it sticks in the middle… I tried tapping with a hammer and it will not pass. Guessing it will have to go to a machine shop to possibly hone it? Anyway, I need to know what parts to get. Or at least a brand or model to start the part search. Thanks for your time.

The threads are stripped on the ram. The ram is also rust pitted, so it will leak if a seal runs against the pitted surface. The piston may have been damaged in the removal process. If you don't have the measuring tools and know how to use them, you had best take it to someone that can check it out for you.

It is looking like an expensive project.

Best I can tell, is where it rounded off the outside, the piston will not pass on the inside. Looking through the bore at a light I can just see a spot that looks different in the light. Is the “flat spotting”?

What threads are stripped? Piston is not damaged. It was removed before the pump rounded off. Piston slides easily from both ends. Sticks right at that circled spot.

I enlarged the last photo of the first post. The shaft to the left of the looks like it had threads on the end opposite the seal.

Now I get it. The tube that the pump piston runs in was crushed. That will be a difficult fix.

It’s a Ausco, Probably a 2 ton unit based off the pictures. I suspect 5-51202 but verify seal sizing prior to buying a kit from a reputable business like Hydraulic Parts supply in Sawyer KS.

I suspect looking at the pictures the damage was done above the hex portion as it looks like the initial attempt flattened the cylinder wall. On the plus side, if you can get it straightened up it’s probably above the sealing zone inside the cylinder, but you will need to verify.

Awesome! Thank you. looked up some parts kits and they say to check the "Base casting number" where is that commonly located? inside the side rails, or on the cylinder itself?
