Hi everyone- I have a floor jack I need to rebuild, does anyone recognize what model it is, so I can buy the right parts? The only thing I can make out on whats left of the info on it is that it starts with a G.

Thank you!PXL_20230501_012701745.jpg

I would say that is just one of your garden variety imports. The slotted pump plunger is the tip off for me. You'll have to disassemble to get measurements for replacement seals and cups.

Got sidetracked but think I tracked it down to one of these models, I'm thinking the G-2593.

Took it apart and one of the cups was old and crumbling (shown below).

My two questions:

1) What the hell is going on in the bottom of the cylinder where the piston sits.

2) Would the blue cup I bought work fine as a replacement even though the old cup has a very square shaped indent/journal in it, while the replacement blue i bought seems to be more curved. (I don't know what to call what I'm describing- its the shape of the area missing from the cup, the trough if you will). The old one could just be deformed from age. They have the same ID, OD, and thickness besides that.

I thought that looked like one of the MVP Pro-Lift jacks from 25 years ago. Marketed under various brand names including Pro-Lift. You can see it even has "MVP" cast into the black cylinder block. I believe MVP Pro-Lift is /was a Shinn Fu brand( Shinn Fu -- Taiwanese company with a US presence, I think they own the Hein Warner and Omega lift equipment brands).

1) Did someone get carried away with the RTV? Give it a poke, see if it's rubbery.

2) The blue cup should be fine, if it's the same dimensions.
