I have read the thread that relates to leaking floor jacks and got some useful info from it but I want some advice and clarification.
Was hoping Hiball could chime in or anyone with experience or knowledge on rebuilding jacks.
I bought this AM200F floor jack new from matco in 1987 and have never had any problems with it until about 2 months ago when it started leaking down. It does not leak any fluids externally. It leaks down whether it is under load or just jacked up without any weight on it. I can buy a rebuild kit for about 50 bucks but not sure if this would even fix the problem.
I took screw #3 out which I believe is the pressure relief valve adjustment and I screwed it all the way in to see if that would stop it from bleeding off but it still did so I screwed it back out about 1-1/2 turns which was about where it was.
I then took screw #2 out and cleaned the seat where the ball seats and reassembled and it still leaks down.
I could not get screw #1 out as it is staked so until I get a drag link socket or something that I can get some torque on that one will have to wait.
Any suggestions or advice would be great. I have also attached the parts breakdown.
I really like this jack and want to fix it.
