Hello! I have a 2 ton floor jack that I bought at auction. Worked for a bit, but then it started struggling to lift all the way. I noticed leakage around the plunger cylinder. Disassembled and found a metal washer that was in really bad shape, but no seals to replace.

Any idea what model jack I'm looking at and where I'd find parts to rebuild the plunger?IMG_20230217_163448491.jpgIMG_20230217_163454153.jpgIMG_20230217_163459230.jpgIMG_20230217_163536481.jpgIMG_20230217_163520659_HDR.jpgIMG_20230217_163546637.jpgIMG_20230217_163549118.jpg

No idea, but I say - go for it! Train yourself on less valuable ones and you will feel better once you get a great vintage one!

That little thing is not worth repairing.
I agree. But if you want to fix it the metal washer is just copper. Also the pump shaft is missing the u-cup, which is the main problem. I wouldn't dump to much into that jack, you can new ones for $30-50 .

I think the ucup is what was on his hand. The washer is probably not copper, but steel. The end of the rod is peened over to hold it in place, thus holding the u cup in place as well.

As said, don't put too much money in it. Other used trolley jacks can be had for $15-20.

I'm all for fixing stuff, when it makes sense, and even sometimes when it doesn't, but that just looks like a generic Chinese jack. If so, it's not worth the effort unless someone says, "you need PN 123XYZ kit for $10", and you want a project. You can just buy a new jack like it at HF for $40, so I can't see how this is worth fixing.

Knowing the names of things is super helpful. I can search and search for terms that I think apply to these parts and miss entirely until I have the actual name. Thanks!
