I recently purchased a 2013 Ford F250.
Today I took it to the local scale and here is the overall weight, and weight at each axle.
Total weight, 7780 pounds. Front axle weight, 4700 pounds, Rear Axle weight 3080 pounds.
This was with a 1/2 tank of fuel and no passengers.
I currently have a Sears/Blackhawk 1 1/2 ton floor jack which will be close to its limit for picking up the rear.
I am thinking of purchasing a 2 1/2 ton jack which should be good for the front end.
Am I over thinking this or is a 2 1/2 ton floor jack sufficient for my needs to maintain my truck?
I already have a set of 4 6 ton jack stands so I should be good once I get it up in the air.
Your thoughts and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
