I'm out in Los Angeles on a job and saw this ad on the local Craigslist. The picture was small, but I clicked on it anyway.

Hmmm... looks like a winner.

I emailed, texted and called him, and offered to pick it up last night. He said no, and I was glad, as he wasn't in a safe part of town. Got it this morning... he realized since the handle was rusty it was only worth $30! I didn't feel too bad--he was a shapie in a newish BMW. Don't know how or where he got it but I took it off his hands. He thought he'd made one heck of a good deal--he left with a big smile on his face.

Somebody painted it with barn paint and a brush.

Dadgum it, now I've got TWO of 'em.

I want to get this jack to somebody who appreciates it. I'll list it in the classifieds here first and give GJ guys the first chance at it.

Then too I found out it needs a new release screw, and that is a $40 item from Milwaukee Hydraulics.

It was hilarious pepi, when I handed the cash over he got a big smile on his face--clearly he thought he'd unloaded a rusty POS to some rube who didn't know any better. It had been on CL for two days when I saw the ad.
