Floor Jack

I restore antique trucks, and have worn out all my jacks, that is, no one will fix them anymore. Anyone have a recommendation for a really good quality 6-ton or better long floor jack on wheels, particularly one that I can get a kit for when I have to repair it?

I bought a NAPA / Carlyle 3.5Ton on sale for $200 bucks and I was very happy with the fit/finish and performance. No trouble lifting a front corner on my 2500 Ram/Cummins.

A 6-ton long, floor jack is sure gonna cost some coin, but I would think the Napa is a good one. I know the 3.5T that I bought is re-buildable.

I have a local hydraulic shop that will also sell floor jacks and repair them, even though they focus on much heavier, industrial hydraulic tools. They sell Norco brand floor jacks. I was "sold" on buying one, but as a shade-tree/joe-homeowner user, I would have been about $80 more than the Napa...I put the $80 into other stuff around the shop.

Aside from an issue where it stops pumping about hallway up, I'm pretty happy with my old weaver 10t. It's heavy, but it's dead simple.

Have a look at AC Hydraulic jacks, pricey but Excellent quality.

Daytona but I don’t think they make a 6 ton though but they are solid jacks.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Will take some pix. The 3-ton jack is an old Craftsman, built by who knows?, that I rebuilt several years ago, but leaks again. Been a great jack, but don't know whether it's worth messing with. The other is a huge long thing with no name, but if I could identify it, with your help, I'd put some effort into it.

It depends on what your budget is. Weavers are good quality and simple, if you can find one of them used and rebuild it you'd be good for many many years. New ones are $1k+, if you want a good quality jack you will be spending a decent amount of cash, unless you find something used. I found a 4 ton weaver, Blackhawk s4 and HW WS 1.5t all for $20 each...

Could it be as simple as low on fluid? On my 4 ton -73 the plunger seal was bad and pushing air into the system, wouldn't go past halfway and would get air bound. Either way, seal kits are readily available and really affordable.

No, not low on fluid. But that's how it acts.

Am getting my old Craftsman 3-ton fixed, as well as the barn find I initially wrote about. I'll send a pic as soon as I get it back. I still haven't identified it.

My choice going forward will be a Weaver 10-tonner, as soon as I can round up the cash. They're not cheap, but I suspect worth it in the long run. If anyone knows of a used 10-ton around, I'm a buyer.

In the meantime, here's my daily driver, which I restored couple of years ago:
