i am sinking a Jacuzzi into a second floor deck.
The opening in the floor because of design errors, and now for convenience in accessing the components is longer than it needs to be.
I am looking to fabricate a removable low profile panel, perhaps with diamond plate stainless steel to fill the hole as follows:
How thick should the diamond plate be and what reinforcement welded underneath so a 170 lb person or more can step on the weakest point w/o caving it in?
The 13" is to edge of the lip there is about 3" extra under the lip of the Jacuzzi the panel can extend to and be hidden under the lip.
That electrical line goes in the hole, its just coming out of hole while i work on end terminations.
If you are a fabricator who can make this and ship to AZ please PM me.
I can make adjustments on how low the lip sits to the floor bit slimmest vertical height above floor (1/8"? ) is best otherwise i guess consider coming up to edge and not under the lip.
Deck is 1" plywood so there is not much to bite into for a support bar underneath. I guess i could consider hanging a support from joists nearby.
