I need opinions on what to do with the floor in my garage, there are some cracks and problem areas. I want to to do VCT tile but I need some opinions I dont really care about the square with the stacked roof tiles, but I would like to get the other corner cleaned up.
Hate to say it but that floor needs a LOT of work before you could successfully install a VCT floor. Those cracks will continue to move unless you repair them structurally, which will destroy your VCT. How about RaceDeck or something like it?
With RaceDeck and other type modular flooring, you can have your floor completely installed in just a few hours. The cracks will not effect RaceDeck at all.
Drop us a line and we will send you 'free samples' of anything that interest you out of numerous styles we manufacture.

The way this has cracked looks as if you have some heaving issues. This can be/is caused by expansion of the concrete. When it expands rapidly and has no where to go, it goes up. A wet sub grade can also be the problem causing even more expansion issues. If this area could be kept at a constant temperature you wouldn't have these issues and the cracks could be epoxied and then anything could go over it.
My floor looked like that. I went the Racedeck route and was done in a day. I do notice that you have a drain. Is it functional? If you did go with Racedeck, you could do a portion in the freeflow style.
