Floor prep question

So I searched...i promise..but I couldnt find anything organized. Here's my question:

I am buying my first home. It has a two car garage with a floor that appears to have been painted with that "garage floor paint" (you know, the grey paint that people think works)..anyways, from what I saw that paint is trash (flaking, etc). I want to do epoxy. The floor also appears to have a texture to it under that disgusting paint. What do I have to do, start to finish, to do my own epoxy? Thanks!!!

The best prep is to rent a grinder. Most rental houses carry the Edco model. Try and get the dyma-serts (diamond heads). You need to remove the coating and profile the concrete to approx. 100-120 grit sandpaper.

Once this has occurred and you have removed all the dust, you can start the coating process following the manufacturers instructions.

Ask questions as you go, do some site-searches, this forum is great.
