Floor prep Question

I have decided to go with Epoxy-coat on the floor in my addition to the garage. When I had the slab done I mentioned to the installer that I was planning on painting the floor so the finish is not smooth but not as rough as a sidewalk broom finish. It is level but when mopped with water it has small dimples through out it.And is fairly rough to the touch. I cleaned it today with a buffer and course(black) pad.I am wondering if I need to go with the acid etch. The addition is 18 x 24 on to a 24 x 24 garage. There wil be no abuse to it as it is to be a clean room for upholstery and craft projects. Ther is no overhead door in it only a walk in door. Because of that I am worried that if I acid etch I may not be able to get it clean enough and see a potential ship wreck comming. So what are the thoughts on this? Thanks for any and all input
