Floor Prep?

Been planning on doing my epoxy but cant seem to get the prep work done correctly. I've been trying to clean my floors and I have used purple power degreaser twice.. first one was at a concetration of 1:1. Noticed it still repeals water so I did it again at full concentration. Left it on for 10 mins then scrubbed it down with a nylon brush both times. While rinsing I noticed that it still repeals water (beads). I went out and got Krude Kutter degreaser and laid that on full and did the same time as above. Used a power washer to rinse... and still I see water beading? Anyone suggest anything else? Im trying to do all this before I etch then repair floors, seal the expansion slots then epoxy... Any help, product would be appreciated. Thank you.

Does it bead in the areas that do not have any oil or grease on them (like near the edges)? If it does, sounds like you have sealed floors.

Yes it does bead in the areas with NO oil or grease. Its in the garage of a fairly new home? Built in 2000. I thought that using a heavy degreaser would remove the seal on the floor. But it seems like its not working too well. I even took a diamond cup grinder and did a quick pass over the entire garage.. (concrete dust is horrible). Do you know of any product that will remove this sealer? I've already tried "purple power" and "Krud kutter" doesn't seem like its doing the job? Any recommendations?

Anytime you grind with a cup grinder, get a dust shroud and hook it up to a vac. You can also grind wet. It's messy but you wont be coughing up a lung in a few years. gene

I honestly didn't think the dust was going to be that bad. It was in fact horrible. The dust was so fine that it looked like smoke and lingered in the air. All i had was a medical mask and that didn't work cause when I blew my nose it was all grey. At least I got 15-20 years before it shows the signs of damage. I did try doing it while the floor was wet and it splattered everywhere onto the walls. Hard lesson learned.
