So I ordered the EpoxyMaster kit from Costco last week and it got here today. Opened up the big bucket that had all the goodies and noticed everything on top was damp. As I started upacking, it went from damp to wet to stinking like hell. Apparently, the bottle of etching solution (aka muriatic acid) had the top partially knocked off when everything was crammed in the bucket at the factory. The bottle was basically empty and there was probably an inch of muriatic acid sitting in the bottom of the mixing bucket. I would've read the instructions or MSDS to see what to do about cleaning of the mess, but they were both soaked in acid. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come for this project.

If that's all it was and it didn't eat anything else important up, it shouldn't be too big of an issue, just annoying - at least muriatic acid is cheap. Clean with baking soda, rinse with water, and let dry and you should be good to go.

And GIG'EM AGGIES!!

Are you living around Bryan/College Station? I've never done anything like what you're doing, but I'm more than willing to lend a helping hand when time permits (between school etc.)...

Surprised it was delivered. We've had spills while in transit and they were returned back to the point of origin.

Look at the bright side... It's a well known scientifically proven fact that every DIY project will have at least one snag - hopefully the spill has fulfilled that quota and you'll have smooth sailing from here on out!

Glad to see there are some fellow Aggies on the board. Thanks for offer 91 4X4, but I'm in Austin. Guess I'll try cleaning it up and seeing if anything was damaged too badly. Would hate to have to ship this mess back.
