I've got a quick question. I'm getting ready to redo my garage floor, my existing floor had some UV damage and yellowed, it never "failed". I just didn't like look after it yellowed. (rocksolid customer service was awesome, they sent me 4 new kits at no cost).

This time around I want to go with a full chip, so I called chipsunlimited, and they recommended 1lb/10sqft. After doing some more reading, I'm thinking I need to be in the range of 1.5lb/sqft. I have 75lb of flake sitting in my garage ready to go, and 730sqft of floor to cover.

I guess my question is, with 1lb/10sqft will it be difficult to get an even distribution of chip, should I just order another box of flake?

The chip is a gray/black granite, will be going over a gray base of polycuramine.

I am not completely following you. We would sell 150 pounds of flake for this size application

You covered my question.

I'm not sure why they recommended 75lbs of flake for 730sqft of floor. I guess I'll go with a heavy broadcast vs full.

Put your flake into 5g buckets to make it easier to carry, and monitor usage. Toss out half your flake, and wait 10-15 min. Then toss out the rest. This allows the first batch of flake to sink into the epoxy, and reveal any wet spots. Flake slightly more there....

IF you're coating a flake floor already you dont need as much. But I would have 150-200 on hand ( depending on flake size) if it were a brand new floor.

Shaun, thanks. Yes, I'm going over an existing floor and the new floor is a polycuramine floor which I understand is thinner.

Thanks again
