Floor stand tool area?

That title is pretty vague, so I apologize for that.

What I mean is, how much is enough lateral area for say, a floor stand drill press, bench grinder, etc?

I need to move my bench mounted tools to floor stands that I'm building, but I also have cabinets to move.

I can take a pic of the space if that helps.

Here are a couple pics. Sorry for the glare.

The idea is to move the drill press into the area the welder lives in now, then a bench grinder immediately to the left.

The big cab on the floor is supposed to be an upper. I may or may not use it, but just under the window line is where the cabs I use will be.

I can re-hang bikes all day, so they don't factor in. The only factor is electrical box access.

Don't judge my mess. It's in a state of Caitlyn....

Transition.

heres what i did with my drill press, hand shear, belt/disk sander and bench grinder

i tried to keep everything in the garage mobile, i repurposed furniture dollies for the bases, and use HF tool stands mounted to the dollies.
the shear stand is a repurposed dropleg jack from a trailer
cant find a pic of the grinder stand..

It would depend on how often you use them. If you put them on caster they would be mobile and could be out of the way when not in use. Thr drill press could go at the end of the bench where the bikes are facing the driveway. Plenty of room to work but out of the way.

Good ideas, guys.

I plan on just leaving them in the same place, cant say why, but I like things in "their" place, I guess.

I've been thinking about it some, and it seems the drill press might need the most room. I'm considering giving it 30" total, and a further away from the wall as the other tools but nothing too crazy.

Give the drill press the same amount of room that it has now. It's not going to require more room just because it's on a floor stand vs the bench mount.
