I'm planning on replacing the bushings on the front of my car and making plans to get a hydraulic press suitable for the bushing and a bearing job I may take on.

I'm not sure what size I should get, 10, 20 or 30 ton.

It's easy to get one that would be over kill and I don't want one that is simply to small.

Any of you guys have experience with these presses? What would you suggest?

20 minimum car suspension bushings can be a real bear.
Swag has some nice upgrades for a HF 20 ton, personally I'm going for a 50-100 just so I'm not always at the limit of the press.
You can also do the air over hydraulic upgrade.

I got a 12 ton HF press for free from a buddy making room in his garage.

Works awesome for leaf springs, sway bar bushings etc.

Man it makes like easier . When you need it you NEED it!!!!

For the money the HF 20ton press is hard to beat. you may find a " better" one used on craigslist but it may take a while. you can usually find the 20ton for 159.00. I would go with the 20. I have a 12ton that works but sometimes it takes all it has.

rule of thumb is a floor model should be 100# for every 10 tons
not including a jack or any plates. I dont see the HF one weighing in at that

if you live where they use salt get at least a 20 ton or stronger anything else just won't cut it for any kind of bearings that press into knuckles. you won't regret having a too strong press but for sure you will if it is too weak
