OK, my single car garage has a garage door on the front and on the back side. The distance between doors in 20'10". The edging doesn't attach to cut sides. If I went with 20 tiles in length and put edging on front and back (3" each side or 6" total), my flooring will be 4" short (or 2" short on from the inside of each door). If I went 21 tiles long + 3" of edging on each side, 6" total, I'd have edging sticking out 4" past inside of each door.

Which is the best way to go?

Generally:

Based on your statement above, I assume the edges you are using are 3"

Start 3.5" back from the overhead garage door.
You can add the edges at any point and that should leave you 1/2" from the garage door
Continue installing tile until you get to the last row -- that you do not have room for.
Cut the tiles 1/2" short of the wall

Thanks Justin...there is no wall...there are 2 garage doors..one on north end of garage and one on south end...a drive thru garage...that's my issue....I'll either be short or long if I have full tiles on each end

What kind of tile? Most tile is laid from the center, either a grout line or seam would be on the ceter line, if that leaves a cut tile of less than 1/2 of a full tile then you would center a full tile and then you would have a cut tile on each side that is larger than 1/2 of a full tile before your edging or bullnose.

My regular Racedeck tiles come right up to the overhead garage door and my edging is sticking outside the garage door a little ways. When the door is closed you can see the black edging outside the door. I have had zero problems with this, and I don't anticipate any issues either. About the only thing I can think of that MAY be a problem is that over time the edging MIGHT become brittle and break. But if it does it isn't a big deal, I will just order some more edging and replace it.

For an open garage I highly suggest their open tile -- Free Flow.

I would put your edging on both sides and if you are a little short you are a little short. RD Free Flow are the best when it comes to expansion and contraction issues, but still, IMHO having part of the product exposed 100% of the time and part in shade you would be asking for issues.
