floored by jack

need to hear from any and all gear heads, need to hear about repair of a good old 'china' floor jack. to good to just for-get-about-it ! would like to at least try to fix it .......... quick lift, robust, 2.25 ton, orang/white like the 2 mil. others in this country

Whats wrong with it?

I would expect any jack repair thread would more less apply, its not like HF invented a new kind of jack, its just a copy of some old jack with the same basic parts as all jacks.

previous owner tryed puting in oil, found that he had pulled the wrong plug and lost the check ball in the factory pressure side! took apart and all seals looked good, no cracks, splits, flat spots, u-cup looked good but no check ball under spring and ***. tryed a new steel bearing, it well lift now but not under weight. thinking maybe (?) a smaller ball bearing. do they even make a replacement (new)hyd. for a part or is this going to be a hunt for part here and there to make it work again?
