After 13 years in the house, I'm finally going to organize and fix up the garage. It's 25x25 and currently used to park 1 vehicle and a BUNCH of random **** that needs organized. The plan is to install some new cabinets and try to get it looking nice. I have a pole barn shop, so this garage is only for parking vehicles and storing kids stuff and the occasional light wood working.
The garage floor has an OLD (it was old 13 years ago) paint or maybe epoxy coating that is mostly gone where the cars drive in and out. I would like to recoat it but also keep the costs really low. I will more then likely be doing 1 side at a time as I move stuff back and forth and try to get it organized for cabinet install.
Is there any easy chemical (acid? Stripper?) paint remover I could use? Can I just apply over whats there if its not activly flaking off? Whats there seems to be well attached. We have concrete polishers/grinders at work that I might be able to use if I have no choice, but was hoping to avoid doing that. Is there is a good low cost 1 layer (don't want to mess with base and clear or anything) coating that is better then a standard paint, but the same easy application? Don't mind doing paint and touching it up every couple years, but if I can find a better cheap option, I will go that route.
