Flooring and door collission

So, I'm building a lifting platform. I'm going to use two sheets of 4x8 1/2" plywood as the base, then run a 3/4" 4x8 sheet down the center and rubber on the edges. Total height: 1.25"

The problem is the exterior door only has about a half inch of clearance before it runs into the slope of the concrete. Also, unfortunately, there isn't really anywhere else to put the lifting platform. It has to go here.

Any creative ideas?

are you willing to change the swing orientation of the exterior door? Get some exterior outswing hinges and make it swing out. You want to make sure you get the right kind of hinges though, for security reasons. Otherwise, remove door, and reinstall it higher

That sounds like the best solution. Is that a pretty big project? Wouldn't water get into the top of the door that way?
