I am looking to put porcelain tile in the shop... However because it is winter time my floor heat will be running....Will this cause issues with the tile adhesion ? I could wait till spring if I have to, but it would be much easier to do now before all my tools, benches and cabinets are in...If I can I would much prefer to tile now....does anyone here know anything about this ?

You have a very powerful tool at your finger-tips. Use the "search" feature to research your tile project. You will find this topic has surfaced many times.

Unfortunately I have used the search and not found the definitive answer I was looking for..... I have found several different opinions, but unfortunately I have not been able to find what I was looking for, or at least not yet.........

I did my house with the heat on - no issues. I did make the thinset a little on the wetter side since the floor was so dry though.

Instead of a smart *** answer you could take the time to help me ya know ! I did use the search but all I got was 200 posts with no definitive thread on the topic.......But I know this, I will now never buy any of your products based off the fact of you taking the time to tell me to use the search function, but wont take the time to actually help me......sorry but that doesn't fly to well in my books.....If it was my business I would have posted the answer, but then made a case for me looking into your products instead of the tile( which at the time would have been considered by me )..... But no, you decided to scold me for not using the search and offered nothing else...pretty snarky attitude if you ask me..........

LOL. I was thinking the same thing.

You should be fine. How hot do you plan on making the floor with the radiant heat?

Either way, I laid tile on my deck at 90 Deg outside, direct sun. I had to use a tent to protect from direct sun. Just don't cook your bucket of thinset on the floor. You will get pissed when you reach in there, and the thinset is dry.

The Thinset mfg will probably have a temp range for installation but that is probably air temp. Maybe it has a floor temp range. If I can find my old bag of Thinset i'll check. Remember ALL Mfg's error on their side because of liability....I know, I rep four mfg's. My rapid cure concrete repair product is guaranteed down to 14F and I have done 1/4" skim coats in -5F weather!

Neal with all due respect, I know very little about tile and was honestly trying to be helpful. Many folks visit this site and ask a question without using the "search" feature.

If you took my reply as malicious, non-helpful or "snarky", I am sorry for the confusion as this was not my intent.
