Flooring for Enclosed Trailer

I have a 20’ enclosed trailer with a plywood floor.
It looks cheap and it’s hard to keep clean.
90% of the time I just use it to store a car in but the other 10% we use it at the racetrack and want to sit inside.

I’m looking for options for a floor covering. It would either have to be permanently installed or easy to roll up when using the trailer for storage and easy to unroll when the trailer is our living room at the track.

I did commercial VCT in mine and it lasted for a dozen years of heavy constant use. Nutts did a thread on his trailer build and used a epoxy coating.

G-Floor manufacturers OEM trailer flooring for many of the trailer companies. We offer it by the foot and in select size rolls. https://www.garageflooringllc.com/trailer-flooring/

Our trailer is used for Snowmobiling, our UTV's and for the race cars and karts, so is out and about a lot all year long. I painted the floor the same color as lower part of the walls (dark gray) and after lots of research I installed the Free Flow style Race Deck. It's worked well for us, looks great and is easily cleaned by vacuum. The wood flooring on our trailer is the Drymax (manufactured) so it can get wet and as such I can also gently rinse out the flooring if needed.

Great ideas so far.

My floor has some oil stains so a coating is probably out.

If I went with a vinyl type flooring like the g floor how is it attached? Glued down? Or does it need to be?

I put some cheap black/white vinyl flooring down in my 6x12 that I use to haul my race bike to the track. I wish I would've put it down in a bit warmer temps but its held up fine so far after a few uses although some of the edge tiles you can hear didn't get pushed down enough on install.

That racedeck flooring looks sweet!

How about cutting a sheet of linoleum to fit your trailer?
When you're going to haul dirty stuff, roll it up.
When you want it looking good, roll it back out.
Five minutes either way....

I have that same style of race flag checkerboard linoleum on the floor in my enclosed trailer. Easy enough to keep clean, fairly durable. Mine is set up for motorcycle transport/storage too, recessed tie downs 6" xtra head room, finished ceiling, twin lights with wall switch

The bummer on going with linoleum or equivalent style tile is once it starts to rip, tear and or crack... it looks terrible and if the flooring was applied with an adhesive, is a pain in the **** to remove. It's also terribly slippery when wet.

We did the checkerboard linoleum in one of our merchandise trailers for the company I work for and while it looked awesome when it was new and kept clean right after anyone walked through the trailer- within the first year of being out on the road at races and events it looked terrible now matter how much it was kept clean. I'm not saying anyone here has that issue nor am I saying it's not a good choice for the OP, I'm just going off of our experience. I've seen a lot of race trailers with this type of flooring and it takes a beating with race car tires going in and out of it.

Organized_Garage How does the Race Deck hold up to sleds?

So far we've had no issues, however none of our sleds are studded. That is going to change here shortly as the wife wants me to stud hers before the season kicks in.

From my research online, talking to Race Deck, as well as seeing other snowmobilers whom have similar flooring, I do not anticipate any issues even with having the tracks studded. With that said though, I do have the ramp door fully done with Super Glide II Pro series ski guide/traction pieces and will install a strip front to back over the Race Deck flooring for the purpose of traction for the tracks only. Not overly concerned on the Race Deck getting dinged up as it's held up quite well and has exceeded my (usually very high) expectations.

I ordered enough for 29' x 7' floor of trailer and a few extra pieces if I ever need to replace any. The e-track (which nicely sits flush with the tiles installed) takes up some of the floor space too. I ordered from rubberflooringinc.com and utilized a good discount they offered online. Total was just over $400 when I did the install last year. Very pleased with their customer service. The ramp door of the trailer was done with Super Glides II Pro Series I ordered from one of our powersports suppliers we deal with at our shop.

We most likely would have this in our Overstock section at $1.50/sq ft of our www.supratile.com industrial grade interlocking tiles. Please contact us directly (not PM) for availability and pricing. Send size of trailer when emailing, thanks.

In our old 24' enclosed trailer we used it for racing and duning in the summer months and snowmobiling in the winter. The only think I found that help up well to all of the above was I had it Rhino lined. Even then the skags on the sleds seemed to mar the surface a bit but it held up.

When I was ready to order our last trailer in 2008 we were done snowmobiling by this time so just racing and duning. I was going to order it with the rubber flooring but a friend of ours that we duned with kept having issues with his sandrail strapped down and the heat. It would move around a little even with the tires of the rail strapped down it would pull slightly side to side and pinch and fold the rubber over a bit. When I ordered our 26' Haulmark Edge trailer I ordered it with the ATP (Aluminum Tread Plate) flooring and it was perfect. The worst part was it took a little bit for it to dull just enough that it didn't blind you when you put the ramp down. I liked it because it swept out very easily if there was any kind of leak or anything spilled on it, it wiped up easily and was never slippery and always looked good.

What I have found great about using our FreeFlow Garage Flooring with snowmachines is how easy they slide across the floor and I am not working in a puddle of snow. Yes the carbides can scratch but in most cases the marks are in the same straight line and easily pop out to replace a few every few years.
here is a long time user in a shop

Rubber barn stall mats found at local farm supply. My 14x7 work trailer has three seams that I filled with an epoxy grout. Working out well so far. Mats came on sale for about $55 each

Our 24 has 12" x 12" floor tiles (prior owner). Looks nice, but wouldn't be my 1st choice. I replaced the rear door with aluminum "diamond plate" (tiles were coming up because of exposure to rain). Our 44' has full diamond plate. If a "clean sheet" I would do either diamond plate, or trailer "coin" flooring (as suggested in a prior post).

Thank You. I think it for sure was the best way to go. I've been nothing short of impressed since the day it arrived. Since the install, we've gotten a LOT of complements and inquiries from fellow UTV'ers, auto racers and snowmobilers. So much so I probably could have sold product right from our trailer! lol I think I have the Mobile Racedeck Showroom!

I so badly wanted to stop in at PRI last week to say hi and Thanks- however we were quite busy as well in our booth (4913) and never had too many chances to leave. Which I think is good? :D

Bump for an old thread. Just got my first cargo trailer I plan to use for my racing go karts.

I've only had it for a week, but I have painted the walls white, and I rubberized the undercarriage floors and metal floor supports since I live in a wet area of the country. Figured I might as well do it now while everything is clean and rust free.

Send us the dimensions to below (not PM please) as we most likely have in our overstock section adequate quantity of our www.supratile.com industrial grade solid PVC interlocking tiles. Lots of customers use them in trailers since they are virtually indestructible and flex with movement easily.
